Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 Lifestyle

So far, four different variants of the Huracan have been launched in the last two years. They consist of the standard LP610-4 coupe and Spyder models, the track-only LP620-4 Super Trofeo and the new LP580-2. The Huracan GT3 could also be thrown in there as the fifth version. While speaking with Autocar recently, the firm's chief executive Stephan Winkelmann revealed that the Gallardo wasn't developed with additional variants in mind, but the Huracan was created from the outset to be available in a number of different guises.

"Unlike the Gallardo, where our derivative strategy came after the car was developed and was also mainly in the second part of the life cycle, with the Huracán we initiated all those things during the development of the base car."

It is believed that the next derivative could take the form of an LP580-2 Spyder. That car would likely then be followed by the likes of a hardcore, track-focused model, possibly available in hardtop and softtop guises and potentially badged the Superleggera. With the Huracan range, Lamborghini is keen on covering five different basis; lifestyle, race, performance, high-performance and fun to drive - and that recipe could be further expanded.

"It could be more than five derivatives over the life cycle. We have a lot of ideas that are already planned, but the more we think, the more things are coming up; it’s a matter also of whether we can allow ourselves to do it because we also have to consider investment, production capacity and complexity."
